C1387 STICKING AT "ON" POSITION OF RELEASE TIMING SWITCH (ONLY VEHICLE WITH ES START)

1. Set the starter switch to "LOCK", disconnect the 28 pin connector of ECU.
2. Check the continuity between 5th and 6th terminals of the 28 pin connector (chassis harness side).
   Standard: No continuity
   
   
   　

Short circuit of the wire harness.

[2] RELEASE TIMING SWITCH CHECK

1. Remove the release timing switch, check the continuity between each terminal of switch when putting the switch on "SLOW" or "FAST" sides.
   Standard: 3-5V

   "SLOW" side	Between 5th and 2nd terminals: Continuity Between 5th and 1st terminals: No continuity
   "FAST" side	Between 5th and 2nd terminals: No continuity Between 5th and 1st terminals: Continuity

   

Abnormality of the release timing switch.

Abnormality of the ECU.

1. Confirm the DTC C1387 is inactive

   • 　Start the engine and let it idling condition.
   • Verify the DTC C1387 is inactive.

   

   DTC Clear

   • Clear the DTC with Hino DX
   • Confirm the same DTC is not reoccurred

   

C1387 is reoccur: Return to first process Other DTC appear: Refer to concerned Trouble shooting
