MALFUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION [ENGINE]
(DTC CODE U0073 / DIAGNOSIS MONITOR CODE 8)

1. Check that a terminal resistor is installed.
2. Check that the resistance is as much as 120 Ω.
3. Check that a connector does not show a sign of irregular contact.
   

NO Correct faulty areas.	YES Proceed to [2] Inspecting each ECU

1. Disconnect connectors of EGR, VNT and NOx sensors 1 & 2 and check diagnosis codes.

   

   Set the starter key to the "LOCK" position before removing the ECU.

   Standard: The DTC code U0073 must be indicated.

NO Troubleshoot communication blackout of each ECU.	YES Replace the engine ECU.

1. Confirm the DTC U0073 is inactive

   • Start the engine and let it idling condition.
   • Verify the DTC U0073 is inactive.

   

2. DTC Clear

   • Clear the DTC with Hino DX
   • Confirm the same DTC is not reoccurred

   

U0073 is reoccur: Return to first process Other DTC appear: Refer to concerned Trouble shooting
