IMPROPER ATC TEMPERATURE
(DTC CODE P2428 / DIAGNOSIS MONITOR CODE 91)

1. Perform a basic engine inspection (injection rate inspection).
   

   Standard: The standard injection rate must be met.

NO Adjust an injection rate.	YES Proceed to [2] Inspecting upstream of the engine

1. Inspect upstream of the engine.
   

   Standard: No oil leakage is allowed.

NO Inspect the engine body and ATC for damage or breakage.	YES Proceed to [3] Inspecting the exhaust temperature sensor (located under ATC)

1. Disconnect a connector of the DPR exhaust gas temperature sensor 1.
2. Measure resistance between the 1st and 2nd terminals of the DPR exhaust temperature sensor 1 connector (component side).

    

   

   Standard value (select one to take measurement)

   Temperature in measurement (ºC {ºF})	Resistance
   50 {122}	9.7 kΩ
   100 {212}	3.8 kΩ
   150 {302}	1.8 kΩ

NO Replace the exhaust temperature sensor (located under ATC).

YES Proceed to [4] DPR forced regeneration

1. Perform a DPR forced regeneration.
   

   Standard: Regeneration must be completed.

NO Replace DPR.	YES End of troubleshooting after deletion of past malfunctions

1. Confirm the DTC P2428 is inactive

   • Start the engine and let it idling condition.
   • Verify the DTC P2428 is inactive.

   

2. DTC Clear

   • Clear the DTC with Hino DX
   • Confirm the same DTC is not reoccurred

   

P2428 is reoccur: Return to first process Other DTC appear: Refer to concerned Trouble shooting
