ABNORMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF DIESEL THROTTLE VALVE
(DTC CODE P2101 / DIAGNOSIS MONITOR CODE 31)

1. Inspect inside the diesel throttle valve and remove all foreign matters if any.
2. If entry of foreign matters is found, remove the foreign matters.
3. Turn the starter key "ON" (do not start the engine).
4. Turn the starter key "LOCK" and check that the diesel throttle valve is operative.
   

   Standard: No abnormality

NO Go to [2] Inspecting the diesel throttle valve.	YES Use HINO-DX to delete past malfunctions and then output diagnosis codes again.

1. Connect HINO-DX to the vehicle and turn the starter key "ON."
2. Turn the starter key "ON."
3. Use HINO-DX to inspect the diesel throttle valve.
   

   

   Standard: No abnormality

NO Failure in diesel throttle valve	YES Faulty harness or engine ECU failure

1. Confirm the DTC P2101 is inactive

   • Start the engine and let it idling condition.
   • Verify the DTC P2101 is inactive.

   

2. DTC Clear

   • Clear the DTC with Hino DX
   • Confirm the same DTC is not reoccurred

   

P2101 is reoccur: Return to first process Other DTC appear: Refer to concerned Trouble shooting
