MALFUNCTION OF BRAKE SWITCH
(DTC CODE P0504 / DIAGNOSIS MONITOR CODE 43)

1. Connect HINO-DX to the vehicle and turn the starter key "ON."
2. Use HINO-DX to inspect whether the engine ECU properly identifies a stop light switch signal when the foot brake pedal is depressed.
   

   

    

NO Inspecting stop light switch	YES Proceed to [2] Inspecting sensitivity to brake switch signals (via CAN).

1. Connect HINO-DX to the vehicle and turn the starter key "ON."
2. Use HINO-DX to inspect whether the engine ECU properly identifies a brake switch signal when the foot brake pedal is depressed.
   

   

    

NO Fault in EBS Inspect the brake switch. Inspect a CAN communication circuit.	YES Normal Check that a gap in judgment is not large between the stop light switch signal and the brake switch signal.

1. Confirm the DTC P0504 is inactive

   • Start the engine and let it idling condition.
   • Verify the DTC P0504 is inactive.

   

2. DTC Clear

   • Clear the DTC with Hino DX
   • Confirm the same DTC is not reoccurred

   

P0504 is reoccur: Return to first process Other DTC appear: Refer to concerned Trouble shooting
