Detail
- Set the starter key to the "LOCK" position and stop the engine.
- Wait for approximately 30 seconds and start the engine.
- Warm up until coolant temperature reaches at least 60ºC. Use the HINO-DX to delete past malfunctions.
If the same diagnosis code is indicated again as a present malfunction after deletion of past malfunctions, inspect a flow damper of a cylinder detected/identified through a diagnosis code.
Diagnosis code Malfunction
(flow damper)DTC code Diagnosis monitor code P0263 61 #1P0266 62 #2 P0269 63 #3 P0272 64 #4 P0275 65 #5 P0278 66 #6 Description of inspection
: After removing a flow damper from the common rail, feed air from one end of the flow damper. Check whether air flows to the other end or is shut off.
Use care to avoid entry of dust and moisture into the flow damper during air feed.
The flow damper is activated (no air flows).
: Replace the flow damper.
The flow damper is not activated (air flows).
: Go to [2] Checking the diagnosis code.
Detail
- Check that no other diagnosis codes are output. If other diagnosis codes are output, troubleshoot indicated malfunctions first. Then use HINO-DX to delete past malfunctions. If the same diagnosis code is output again, there may be some troubles described below.
Excessively high fuel flow rate caused by bend of or crack in pipe between a flow damper and an injector; or fuel leakage from a pipe joint.
& rarr; Check for leakage Excessively high or low fuel flow rate caused by increased leakage inside the injector.
& rarr; Use a nozzle tester to check a leakage rate from a single injector. Excessively high fuel flow rate caused by fault in an injection nozzle or seat.
& rarr; Use a nozzle tester to check an injector for fault in seat. Excessively high or low fuel flow rate caused by fault in operation of an injector.
& rarr; Replace and check an injector. Excessively low fuel flow rate caused by clogging in the fuel supply system.
& rarr; Inspecting a fuel filter
- To identify a malfunctioning point referred above, it will be required to use the HINO-DX to check intercylinder compensation as well as to review engine data for diagnosis with a selected injector stopped.
When there is a cylinder whose intercylinder compensation is larger than other cylinders (engine behavior will not change even if fuel injection is stopped by active test for the cylinder), the cylinder having large compensation will not contribute to engine revolution.
& rarr; Inspect injector harnesses (disconnection).
& rarr; Inspect pistons for compression leakage. When there is a cylinder whose intercylinder compensation is smaller than other cylinders, the cylinder having small compensation will excessively contribute to engine revolution.
& rarr; Inspect injector harnesses (+B short circuit).
Detail
- Confirm the DTC P0263 is inactive
- Start the engine and let it idling condition.
- Verify the DTC P0263 is inactive.
- DTC Clear
- Clear the DTC with Hino DX
- Confirm the same DTC is not reoccurred
- P0263 is reoccur: Return to first process
- Other DTC appear: Refer to concerned Trouble shooting
