OVERHEAT (DTC CODE P0217 / DIAGNOSIS MONITOR CODE 6)

1. Set the starter key to the "LOCK" position and disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connector.
2. Measure resistance between the 1st and 2nd terminals of the coolant temperature sensor connector (component side).

• This code will be indicated when the coolant temperature sensor is properly functioning and reads 115ºC or more coolant temperature.
• When this diagnosis code is detected, the maximum fuel injection rate will be limited. Once coolant temperature falls to or below 100ºC, the control will return to its regular mode.

NO Fault in coolant temperature sensor	YES Fault in engine cooling system

1. Confirm the DTC P0217 is inactive

   • Start the engine and let it idling condition.
   • Verify the DTC P0217 is inactive.

   

2. DTC Clear

   • Clear the DTC with Hino DX
   • Confirm the same DTC is not reoccurred
