ePER is an instrument for the
consultation of the various product catalogues of the Fiat
group. It has been created for use by the Service Network
of the makes FIAT, ALFA and LANCIA
Designed in a modular way, ePER
allows for constant updating with new content - such as;
new product catalogues (e.g.: Accessories, Tires, Fixtures
& Fittings, etc.) - and functionality -such as; integration
in other information systems in use by the Service Network
(e.g.: ePlus)
ePER is fully compatible with
the common browser Internet Explorer and is available in
the following formats: CDROM, DVD, or on the WEB (Fiat intranet
and, in the future, directly via Internet)
The characteristics of the different ePER
formats, with regards to the Spare Parts Catalogue, are
as follows:
CDROM: Given the limited storage capacity
of the media (about 650 Mb), every CDROM distributed contains
only a limited number of makes and models according to the
following groupings: FIAT-Vehicles in production, FIAT-Vehicles
out of production, FIAT-Commercial vehicles, ALFA ROMEO-all
models, LANCIA- all models. About 26 editions of the ePER
Spare Parts Catalogue CDROM are foreseen in a year, subdivided
according to the aforementioned groupings.
DVD: This new media, with a storage capacity
more than seven times greater than that of a normal CDROM,
allows for all the models of the three makes, FIAT, ALFA
and LANCIA, to be stored on a single disc.
About ten DVD editions of the ePER
Spare Parts Catalogue are foreseen in a year. In almost
all cases personal computers with a normal CDROM drive can
also be fitted with a DVD reader either in addition to,
or in place of the installed CDROM drive.
WEB: This edition of ePER
Spare Parts Catalogue will allow direct consultation of
the Catalogues for all makes and models via the Internet
or the Fiat Intranet without the need to install any software
on the client computer. The WEB version, recommended to
those with a fast Internet connection (e.g.: ADSL), will
contain Catalogue data which is always up to date and which
will, with time, be improved by greater functionality (such
as; integration with the ePlus system) and other types of
Catalogue (e.g.: Accessories, Tires, Special Features, etc.)
Hints: Warning: ePER
will only run with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0
or above, other browsers - such as; Netscape, Opera, etc.
– are, therefore, not supported.
